I think the popular answer on here would be to bring their Amarok, Phaeton over here and put that W12 Nardo concept immediately into production. But what I’d do is probably take the profit hits for a year or two by keeping the prices the same but loading the Passat, Jetta and Golf with technology and luxury bits to be a car that's priced like a fully loaded accord but feels like a mid loaded 5 series.

1. Make Bugatti into a RR/Bentley competitor.
2. Release a new Panamera, which would be good looking because it wouldn’t look like a melted 911

I’d make their cars more reliable. And bring the Polo, Amarok, and Sharan to the US. 2-door A3, FWD A8 manual, bring their full ineup over.
Another good strategy would be to rebadge some Japanese cars not sold here, and import them.

Import the Amarok, T6 van, and Polo to North America, cut the shit with the dumbed down Passat and bring in the full-fat Euro model, push the efficient and powerful small gas engine line while resurrecting the diesel’s reputation, and regain the brand’s lost funkiness by having some fun with things. As far as the diesels, maybe embark on some speed/distance/efficiency/low emissions record runs and publicize the shit out of them. Get them out in public with guerilla marketing campaigns. Put people behind the wheel. Continue to build Audi diesel LMPs and win Le Mans with them. Bring the Golf Cup or TDI racing series to the US as a support series to Tudor/whatever.

Not enough affordable, reliable cars. Besides, the Amarok would do very very well here.

Put sea mines in the bumpers. No one would ever want to hit your car, leaving your bumpers dent free! May have an issue with repeat customers, though.

Sell Bugatti (to Peugot or Nissan/Renault), sell Bentley (to JLR/Tata?), sell Seat (to some spanish farmers I suppose), spinoff 25-49% of Lamborghini to raise capital similar to the Ferarri stock offering (for the impending fines), and sell all but 1 of the truck divisions (I think they have 3) to separate companies (one to Lada or other Russian holding group and one to Nissan/Renault).
This leaves them to focus solely on Skoda, VW, Audi, and Porsche I believe. Bring some of that cheap shit over here and start pushing economy level volume that would make the South Koreans crumble. Bring the Skoda badge over here, but just to put a new face on an old car like the Jetta City in Canada. Bring the Q1 as quickly as possible and start work on an SQ1 and SQ3. Create a RWD TT and put it in the Z3/Z4 price range, create a TTS to go with it and then rebody for Porsche 914.

I would simply slap a SUV badge on the Golf Sportwagon and sell it as an SUV. Yeah, it would be a lie, but if’ we’re gonna call 4 door sedans “coupes” and pollut-y diesels “clean”, then fuck it.

U.S. Market: Bring over the Polo, build a midsized CUV that starts in the $30,000 dollar range, the next gen Beatle will be based on the Polo, the next U.S. Passat will be the same as the Euro Passat, build a Golf - Altrak - CUV, and the next gen Scirocco will be sold in the U.S.
Japan: Partner with a Japanese company to build a Kei car in Japan
China: Long wheel base versions of the Passat, the Touareg, and the new midsized CUV
Europe: Carry on business as usual

Snatch away some engineers from Toyota. New focus on dependability and reliability. Externally our warranties won’t change, but internally I want to see our cars reach 300,000 Miles on the regular given routine maintenance.
Audis, Bentleys, and Lambos can have outrageous maintenance costs still and surprise little trinkets that run $2k in labor to replace, but that’s a big no-no for anything with a VW badge on it from now on. One caveat for Audi though; no more timing chains facing the firewall. If the cars aren’t big enough to take a V-style engine and AWD bits, then we make them longer. Simple as that.
Shadow recalls. If a big problem develops with one of our major vehicle parts (like the engines throw a rod, or the DCTs like to eat clutch packs or something like that), we smother it. Don’t push the problem on to our customers even when it’s just a few thousand cars and we can get away with it. it’s not worth the bad word of mouth. One recommendation is literally worth tens of thousands of revenue to us, and we need to act like it.
10 years out, I want us to rival Japan for reliability. “My VW is the most reliable car I’ve ever owned and the maintenance costs are so low!” Is what I want to hear out of the mouths of our customers.

I’d make retro crap, except the beetle. Make them simple to fix reliability. To me the VW that most people like is the old VW, which I would bring back. We already have Toyota for bland and Nissan for weird and Mitsubishi for sad, so we don’t do that.
